Singer-Songwriter Arlen Rundvall mines the depths of human experience to deliver songs of courage and empathy. He bravely articulates tough experiences into lyrics and melodies that connect and inspire.
Arlen’s musical landscapes are like pathways into the mind and the heart, in which his own original, authentic voice, poetic insights, uncompromising honesty and compassion strike responsive chords.
Music is a medicine to Arlen—he has to write to articulate his experiences of life. Whether it is a love song or a song on depression or overcoming mental illness, he goes for it in an inspiring way.
The one sound that continues to come through is the raw delivery of his voice singing real songs of lyrical substance. He delivers honest songs for wanderers, seekers, lovers and those who persevere.
Arlen has recorded two ten song albums: “Not Always” and “Face the Wind.”
I loved writing these songs and recording them for you. I found it very cathartic to sing these lines on songs like Bewitched Puppet and Turned. Throw your angst into your art and you will find yourself on a freer path. Peter Kilgour produced and provided the sonic path.
It felt great to follow it up with songs like Face the Wind and Warrior Bride. I even played guitar on this album with Peter Kilgour once again producing with his ear of wisdom. I loved his playing circles around my finger-picking on the track Carry On.
I found writing this Christmas in the Psych Ward song and releasing it as a single to be very liberating. Peter Kilgour produced it to build toward the anthem chorus with excellence.
